Online Advertising For Leads
Even though you'll have an online presence with your real estate investor website - you'll probably still be employing more conventional advertising avenues to get buyers or tenants to come to your website:
- Newspaper classified ads,
- Ads in neighborhood papers,
- Front yard signs,
- Area signs,
- Business cards,
- Flyers,
- etc.
All of these should bear your website address and generate traffic of visitors for you.
However, as you get more and more proficient with your real estate investor website, you'll want to explore some of the online advertising avenues.
And frankly, you'll likely find many more places to advertise online than offline.
Advertising online is a whole big subject by itself and I won't be covering it in this course in details, but I'll give you a few pointers.
Online advertising could be very cheap, or it could be extremely expensive. It could generate a lot of traffic or it could bring hardly any at all.
What's important to know about it, if you're paying for it - you must know exactly how many visitors a particular ad is generating for you on a monthly basis or during some other specific unit of time.
In the offline world, you can run a newspaper classified ad and count the number of phone calls it generated to the number you put in there.
You can further tweak the headline or the body of the ad itself to see if you can increase the volume of calls from it.
In the online world you should be able to do the same. Run an ad, get a count of how many people clicked on it and came to your website.
Then change an ad (headline and/or body) and see if the ad gets you more visitors.
You must know a number of clicks your ad gets in a unit of time. Then you can decide whether it's worth for you to continue running the ad or you should cancel it, or should test an ad in a different place.
If you bought an online ad and you don't have a way to measure how many visitors came from it - you're probably wasting your advertising dollars.
Knowing how many visitors came from a specific ad in a certain place online will let you find best places to run your ads for more traffic and cheaper cost per visitor.
Bottom line - it'll make your advertising dollars count.
